"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." — Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
There are seasons in the Christian life when the excitement of a new beginning has faded, yet the harvest has not appeared. The prayers seem unanswered, the burdens remain heavy, and the daily responsibilities continue without much visible reward. It is during these times that many believers become discouraged. The enemy whispers that our labor is wasted and our faithfulness has accomplished little. Yet God reminds us that His work is often taking place beneath the surface long before it becomes visible to our eyes.
A fire does not always blaze with the same intensity. Sometimes it roars; at other times it settles into glowing embers. However, as long as the fire still burns, there is life and warmth. In the same way, a believer may not always feel the same emotional excitement they once experienced, but faithfulness is not measured by feelings. It is measured by obedience. The saint who continues praying, serving, witnessing, and worshiping even when the emotions are absent is demonstrating a mature and steadfast faith.
If you find yourself weary today, do not quit. The farmer does not abandon the field because the crop is not yet visible. He continues to sow, water, and wait. God's promises have not changed, and His timing is always perfect. Keep the fire burning through prayer, Scripture, and faithful service. In due season, the Lord will bring forth a harvest that will prove your labor was never in vain.
