"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint." — Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

Waiting is one of the most difficult disciplines in the Christian life. We live in a world that values speed, instant answers, and immediate results. Yet God often works through seasons of waiting. Abraham waited for a son. Joseph waited in a prison. David waited for a throne. The waiting place is not a wasted place when God is involved. It is often the workshop where He shapes our faith, deepens our dependence, and prepares us for what lies ahead.

Many believers view waiting as inactivity, but biblical waiting is far more than sitting still. It is trusting while you wait. It is praying while you wait. It is obeying while you wait. The eagle does not create the wind beneath its wings; it simply learns to soar upon it. Likewise, God's people are called to rest in His promises and trust His timing. When we try to force open doors that God has not opened, we often create unnecessary heartache. When we wait upon Him, we discover His strength is sufficient for every season.

If you are standing in a waiting place today, remember that God has not forgotten you. His delays are not denials. While you may not understand what He is doing, you can be certain that He is working. The same God who guides the stars in their courses is guiding your life according to His perfect plan. Wait patiently, trust completely, and continue faithfully. In God's time, the answer will come, and you will discover that the strength you needed was being developed while you waited.
