“Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.” – Proverbs 16:3
Too often, we begin the day trying to manage our schedule, solve our problems, and fulfill our responsibilities in our own strength. But God’s Word gives us a better way: commit our works unto the Lord. That word commit means to “roll” something over onto someone else—to shift the load. Each morning, we are invited to roll the burden of our day—our plans, duties, and decisions—onto the strong shoulders of our heavenly Father.
When we commit our works to the Lord, we are not asking Him to bless our agenda; we are surrendering it and inviting His will to prevail. So many of our anxious thoughts arise because we try to carry more than we were meant to. But when we give our work to the Lord, He not only carries the load—He orders our thoughts, gives us wisdom, and establishes our path.
Notice the promise: “thy thoughts shall be established.” The man who gives God his works will receive in return peace of mind. God will stabilize your thinking, clarify your priorities, and guide you with confidence. Committing your day to the Lord doesn’t remove every trial or interruption, but it does align your heart with heaven and your hands with His purpose.
Before you set out today, pause and pray: “Lord, this day is Yours. Guide my steps, bless my efforts, and glorify Thy name through all that I do.” Roll your works onto Him—shift the load and watch Him establish your thoughts.
